Hospital Pre-Cannulation Standard

Thermal Vein Dilation for First-Stick Precision.

The WARMUP™ Vein Enhancer Sleeve combines targeted thermal chambers with an integrated distal mitton to gently warm the hand and forearm—substantially expanding vein visibility and improving patient comfort prior to IV cannulation and blood draws.

Upper-arm adjustment strap holds the sleeve firmly in place without restricting arterial inflow or occluding veins prior to tourniquet application.

See the Difference 5 Minutes Makes

Cold hospital environments trigger peripheral vasoconstriction, causing veins to collapse and increasing procedural failure rates. Thermal pre-warming reverses sympathetic constriction.

✖ Unwarmed (Cold Baseline)

Vasoconstricted Lumen

  • Veins collapsed & impalpable
  • High needle entry resistance
  • Multiple puncture attempts
  • Heightened patient anxiety & pain
✔ WARMUP™ Pre-Warmed (5 Mins)
2.8 mm

Thermally Dilated Lumen

  • Vein cross-sectional area doubled
  • Prominently visible & palpable
  • First-stick cannulation success
  • Substantially reduced pain perception

Engineered Specifically for Patient Comfort & Vein Access

Every millimeter of the WARMUP™ sleeve is designed for clinical utility, infection control, and rapid hospital deployment.

Non-Constrictive Velcro Strap

Located at the upper bicep, the gentle Velcro fastener secures the sleeve in seconds. Accommodates pediatric through bariatric limb circumferences without producing unwanted tourniquet occlusion.

• One-pull nurse application
• Zero slip during pre-op or triage

Insulated Thermal Pouches

Houses standard hospital dry instant chemical heat packs. The dual-layer medical fleece and cotton insulate outward while directing uniform, gentle warmth inward toward cephalic and basilic veins.

• Sustained, safe conduction (no hot spots)
• Hypoallergenic, latex-free interior
Key Clinical Innovation

Integrated Distal Mitton with Thumb Loop

Warming the arm alone is insufficient if the hand remains cold. The ribbed mitton encloses the palm and dorsal veins, interrupting sympathetic vasoconstriction. The open thumb slit and distal finger access allow simultaneous pulse oximetry and capillary refill checks.

• Blocks distal reflex cold response
• Leaves fingertips free for SpO2 monitoring

1:1 Single-Patient Retention

Assigned to a single patient upon admission. Remains at their bedside for repeat blood draws, catheter changes, and chemotherapy infusions throughout their stay, completely eliminating cross-contamination risks.

• Eliminates hospital-acquired infection transfer
• Patient keepsake upon discharge

Seamless 5-Minute Bedside Workflow

Fits smoothly into routine patient triage, pre-op staging, or registration with zero added nursing workload.

STEP 01
30 Seconds

Insert Heat Pack

Activate standard hospital instant dry pack and slip into the insulated forearm pocket.

STEP 02
20 Seconds

Slide & Fasten

Slide sleeve over arm, guide thumb through the mitton opening, and secure the gentle Velcro strap.

STEP 03
5 Minutes

Passive Dilation

Patient relaxes while gentle warmth eliminates vasoconstriction and expands peripheral vein caliber.

STEP 04
Immediate

First-Stick Access

Peel open the sleeve or slide down to cannulate visible, engorged target veins on the first attempt.

Backed by Published Clinical Literature

The physiological benefits of local dry heat application prior to peripheral venipuncture and catheterization are thoroughly documented across multiple controlled trials.

Venous Dilation Effect: Dry Heat vs. Moist Heat

Yasuda K, Shishido I, Murayama M, Kaga S, Yano R. Hokkaido University, Japan.

Key Finding: Dry hot pack application maintained elevated vein cross-sectional area and cutaneous surface temperature significantly longer than moist towels, without skin maceration or cooling rebound.

Dry Heat for Difficult Venous Access (DIVA)

Suchitra E, Srinivasan R. Randomized Controlled Trial.

Key Finding: Application of local dry heat significantly enhanced the ease of peripheral intravenous access, increased first-attempt cannulation success, and reduced perceived puncture pain in pediatric cohorts.

Impact on Peripheral IV Catheter Insertion

Fink RM, Hjort E, Wenger B, Cook PF, Cunningham M, et al.

Key Finding: Pre-cannulation dry warmth substantially improved venous prominence and palpability grades, reducing failed puncture attempts and lowering anxiety among oncology outpatients.

Feasibility of Peripheral Cannulation

Jisha K, Latha S, Joseph G. Medical Surgical Nursing Dept, Mangalore, India.

Key Finding: Extremity dry warmth produced rapid, measurable venous distension, significantly shortening procedure times and improving nursing feasibility scores compared to un-warmed room baselines.
✔
Higher First-Stick Feasibility

Expands lumen caliber in pediatric, geriatric, oncology, and difficult-stick patients.

✔
Substantially Less Procedural Pain

Thermally relaxed tissues lower needle resistance and relieve procedural anxiety.

✔
Zero Cross-Contamination

Dedicated single-patient retention eliminates hospital-acquired infection vectors.
